We Indians might not be lucky in some fields compared to other world citizens but when it comes to wardrobe options, we Indians are truly blessed. Not only is our fashion trend meter on point with Western styles – be it sheer, metallic or retro, we also have a huge treasure chest of traditional inspiration for our closet staples.

Traditional is often thought of as conservative . But nowadays traditional is chic and modern. Why wear western attires every single day when we have some inspiring and top notch Indian kurti brands around us.

Don’t just be a modern woman BUT become a MODERN ETHNIC WOMAN .

IMG_2559IMG_2619Kurtas doesn’t always have to be long , there are short cute ethnic tunics also available at the leading kurti brands .

If you are avoiding kurtis/tunics just because you think leggings are the only pairing option, be prepared for a pleasant surprise!

My summery yellow tunic is from Shree -the Indian avatar . The fabric is soft and it is so versatile that I can wear it with jeans , jeggings , skirts, etc.

Personal favorite combo is with ripped jeans and dabu print funky sling.

Short Ethnic tunics can be worn anywhere . Pair them up with anything you like and you are good to go.

When it comes to versatility, Kurtis top the charts. The ethnic world has opened doors to plenty of styles, with subtle hints and peeks into traditional motifs with newer designs. And I love fusion wear!

Our love affair with denims is one of the best relationships ever and how can we forget them while styling our Kurtis! So for the first look I styled my long printed kurta from “GLOBAL DESI” with my boyfriend fit jeans. It’s print is so pleasant and cool. Straight hemlines make you look taller too. It is chic and is perfect for casual outings or even for office. So who said Kurtis are only for traditional functions?

Recently Kurtis have found their long lost friend in Flaired skirts, giving us yet interesting pairing option. Ditch those customary leggings and make way for a stunning skirt underneath. So for the second look, to give my Kurtis the ethnic  touch, I paired it with a red skirt with gota borders and my pretty red tussel gota earrings and you are ready to attend any function. Avoid short sleeves with long Kurtis as long Kurtis look stunning with long sleeves.

I love it as I can style it in so many different ways for different occasions. #MyGlobalDesi ❤️

IMG_2635IMG_2631Experiment with fusion wear  which merges the best of both traditional and modern, creating a style that is as unique as it is Indian.

This is another current favorite kurta of mine from Shree- the Indian avatar . It is designed in a modern cape dress kinda way which lets your body be draped in lightweight and fluid silhouettes that compliments your figure.

I not only wear it as a kurta but have rocked an India dress look also. It not only ups your style quotient but is flowly , hot , chic and super comfortable too.

Wear it with leggings, jeans or nothing at all , but you will definitely fetch complements for your unique traditional yet modern dressing sense.

Indo-western Kurtis are a rage amongst the women of 21st century. They showcase the contemporary side of fashion, while staying close to the Indian roots.

This is my favourite piece from “MISSA MORE CLOTHING” as it is created from a melange of Indian and western fashion. It is a blue flaired kurti with a front slit and a high neck trendy cut. You can pair it up with jeggings, jeans, plasos , skirts and experiment in your own way as it is so versatile.

The cuts and the slit adds a very western chic edginess to it and on the same hand it’s flowing silhouette gives it the Indian touch too. I paired it with my black jeggings and I was good to go. I wore small ethnic earrings and a studded bracelet and I was good to go. You can wear it to formal events or casual outings or functions as it is so trendy and versatile.

Keep your accessories minimal and let your silhouette do the talking 😉
